The workshop “ will take place on March 4th, 2016 between 2:30pm and 3:30pm, during the MCAA Annual Conference at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy. This event aims to be an executive “think tank” about Science-Business interactions, featuring a panel of experts leading a discussion focused on specific topics of relevance for the MCAA community. Confirmed speakers include Dr Fumi Kitagawa (Lecturer in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, University of Edinburgh Business School) and Mr Leonardo Alfons (President of European Science Events Association).
This session will address several topics of major interest for MCAA members, including:
- how to launch business from research,
- transition from academia to industry,
- roles of scientists in business or
- skills in communicating your science
The event is targeted to provide the attendees an opportunity to discuss their questions/concerns regarding the role-interaction of science and business, with the invited speakers and other Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellows/alumni. Speakers will give an insight into the practical aspect of bridging business and science. This should facilitate and encourage scientists to start this exciting journey. Furthermore, the meeting will help to extend their professional network, meet possible future partners and get inspired to create their first business plan.
